My GI Founder

Welcome to the My GI Foundation of beautiful Loveland, Ohio. Current Army 1LT Connor Thomas started My GI at 14. If you are a tri-state veteran, active duty warrior, reservist, or simply a patriot, you may have met him and his true hope is to have shaken your hand at a 4th of July parade, presented you with an award, financial aid, or helped improve your life in some way. If you know of an American veteran, active military contact, or their family who is in need; please contact My GI. Starting My GI as a 14-year-old freshmen was a huge undertaking and he has faithfully served Cincinnati and the United States military ever since. His first contribution was a donation of $1,400 to the DAV via a Polar Plunge. He raised money for the DAV by using his best attribute; hustle. OORAH! His second event was a 5K for the Joseph House of Cincinnati and he was able to raise $10,000 on their behalf. The Cincinnati Roller Girls skated with the participants and Mr. Anthony Munoz handed out the awards. They helped make the day wonderful for those who called the Joseph House home.

My GI serves all veterans possible who left military service with proper release and decorum. Our reach extends often into downtown Cincinnati and his relationships have challenged him to enjoy lifetime membership status  with the NAACP, NABVETS, and VVA #10. We recently purchased two bricks for a fundraiser at a flight museum in Columbus, Indiana to transport a C-119 from Wyoming.

In high school Connor was an AP Scholar with Honor and ended up with twenty-two college credits. His GPA was 4.02. He worked extremely hard to earn a National AROTC Scholarship, Citadel Endowments, Congressional service academy nominations, multiple government related scholarships, and a VVA Scholarship. Lt. Thomas was President and Chairman of the Citadel Student Legislature and the Adjutant Officer for 2nd Battalion, which houses close to 500 cadets. He was a senior rank officer and took every opportunity to lead. He made the Dean's List in each of his semesters at the Citadel, most recently earning a spot on the President's List with a 4.0 GPA and recommendation. He earned a 3.81 five times allowing him to have Gold Star Recognition.

His first visit in September of 2016 was for football, but soldiering has always been his true calling. With his work ethic and talents; he has been fortunate to receive much recognition, which you can read about under the awards & merit tab, if you are interested. He was very honored to be named to the Southern Conference All-Academic Team for track & field as a Division I decathlete and that glory goes to the Citadel.

In high school he was a All-Conference Pole Vaulter and an All-Conference Sprinter. In 2016, he was an OHSAA Regional Finals Medalist as a pole vaulter and a two-time High School Football All-American. He was honored to serve as a multi-year team captain in both sports. He was a four-time Academic All-Conference Football player and a four-time Academic All-Conference Track & Field athlete. His devotion to athletics and his teammates is something he always poured himself into year-round.

Currently, My GI is writing grants and fundraising to improve services and assistance for our military heroes. Donations are always a welcome necessity, as they make sure we can help our vets whenever they call. We meet people everywhere we go and many donate as fundraising is a full-time job. You can donate at www.mygivets.com on the homepage or feel free to contact our CEO at casey@mygivets.com.
